After several business cars from VW, like Golf V GTI, Golf V GT TDI 170 hp, Tiguan TDI 140 hp and Passat Variant Highline TDI 140 hp I had to decide for a new one. Since one week I have an Audi A4 allroad TDI 240 hp and I am very satisfied.

I'd have gotten a bright beige dog to go with the car!

And who wouldn't be satisfied with the 240hp TDI? Unfortunately we don't ever get those engines over here in the States.

Cheers!

Bis dann!

Rosetta Stone software is supposed to be pretty good. I got my hands on the Swedish and Japanese programs for work, but haven't had much time to devote to it so far. What parts I have worked through seem to be using a good approach - they use a method more analogous to how we learn language as kids - relying heavily on sight/sound associations to teach rather than letting you continuously translate from your mother tongue to the new one. Matter of fact, that's really how I learned German so well, even though I had 5 years of academic instruction beforehand.

Since you're just interested in German, you could also ask the Goethe Institute for suggestions!

Anybody have a good reference for a German self-study language program?

Really.

alles bestens!

Hmm, there are no side-lights on my W8 - think its an US-only thing...

Haven't seen any with a frontal park assistant ... Don't think it was available...

Hey Derek,

Nice garage!

It looks like your rear valance is different than mine. I wonder why VW would do that?

Hi Tom,

Nice to meet you again. Hope you and your family are well and job and car are running.

My garage is brand new and ready since two weeks. It needed lots of money to construct it. Usually it should go on faster than it really went, but the construction firms are really stupid people, I can tell you.

But now our cars and all the rest of things we have around the house (bicycles, toys for the kids, machines for the garden and so on ..................) have a new home.

Regards,
Derek

But I don't see the park-assistant on any of your models ... I didn't know that that actually was optionally on the W8-model...

Concerning the rear valance the size of the number plate is the only difference I know. I think the side-lights are part of the rear bumper, same with park assistant. I just have it on the back side, does anybody know, if there was a parlk assistant for the front side available?

Regards,
Derek
